A new garden nursery comes to Tooting!

A new garden nursery comes to Tooting!

Kavita Bowry, Communications and Development Manager at Share Community with all the details of Share’s Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day on 2nd June – a fantastic and fun day out for all the family.

The sun is finally out (well, mostly)! So it’s time to spruce up your green space. And we have just the thing for you.

Share is launching Share Nurseries, a new independent garden nursery for Tooting and the local community, which officially opens its gates at Share’s Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day on 2nd June 2018.

Share Nurseries, a social enterprise of Share Community, sells plants, produce and garden creations.

Share Nurseries

All our plants are lovingly grown and nurtured by Share students as part of their horticulture training. As well as gardening skills, this gives our students a pathway into work-related activities and teaches them valuable employability skills, such as customer service and quality control.

We have a large array of bedding, vegetable and herb plants for sale. In addition, we sell:

  • Spring and summer planted window boxes and hanging baskets
  • Autumn vegetable harvest boxes
  • Christmas wreaths
  • Fresh compost

We grow everything using organic principles without the use of chemicals.

We also provide beautiful floral decorations to order. Get in touch to discuss your needs.

Share Nurseries is based in Share's beautiful 2.5-acre garden in the grounds of Springfield University Hospital, where all of Share's horticultural training is provided. It is open for sales from Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.

Join us on Saturday 2nd June 2018, from 10am to 4pm, for our Plant Sale and Healthy Living Community Day in the Share Garden in Tooting to help us celebrate the launch of Share Nurseries, and to get active with our free exercise workshops and cycling, enjoy a little capella harmony from the lovely ladies from Treblemakers, and treat yourself to a little (healthy!) treat from our pop-up café and street food stalls.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved at our Community Day, so if you are interested in taking up one of the stalls to promote your service or work, or if would like to run an exercise or wellbeing workshop, get in touch! In addition, we’re looking for prizes for our tombolo so if you are able to donate anything, that would be much appreciated. And if you’d like to volunteer to help run the event on the day, we’d love to hear from you!

Find out more or register for the event on the Share website or contact Jenny Bourlet via email jennyb@sharecommunity.org.uk or telephone 020 7801 9813 to see how you can get involved.
