3 year old Sachin Gilchrist survived a rare viral illness which attacked his heart. He was on life support at Great Ormond Street Hospital and was not given much chance of surviving.
He was treated around the clock because he was so critically sick and survived against all odds. Sachin’s mother Jagrati (based in Tooting) is fundraising in order for other sick children to receive the same highly expert and world renowned medical care.
Jagrati said, “Our lives have changed forever since Sachin contracted a deadly virus from birth and led to him having three cardiac arrests and placed on life support for four months at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The level of expertise is truly exceptional at GOSH and that's why we need to help them continue to treat other very sick children, just as they helped us when no one else could. Sachin is alive and thriving (albeit with a weak heart now) because GOSH not only saved his life but ours as a family too.
Jagrati is organising a charity Zumbathon at the Lola Jones Hall in Tooting Leisure Centre on May 22 from 10am to 1pm. Headlining the day is ex-west end dancer Ralph Sebastian and there’ll be pop-ups from Stella & Dot, Urban Gourmet and more. Raffle tickets will be on sale for £2 each with physiotherapy sessions, private dining experiences and more to be won.
Jagrati invites everyone to come along and join the Zumba party with your family and friends. For more information please visit Justgiving.com/Jag-Gilchrist to book a place(s) for £10 per person or pay on the door.
